Herter Bros Labeled Recamier A labeled "Herter Bros, New York & W.H. Van plus the numbers 4808" recamier, the newer vinyl covering was added on top of the original black leather upholstery, it was during this reupholstering that the stamp was discovered. This is a late 19thC example with mythological animals resembling dolphins. 75 inches long & 26 inches deep

Phineas T Barnum discovered him & made him the most famous of human curiosities in his circus. It is therefore befitting that this important example of American Furniture reside there.
